I recently went on a nostalgia binge and finished a YA series I had started when I was young enough to be reading YA, but had never acquired the final two books… until now (thank you, Amazon). The concept was really cool, if the execution was, well, a YA series. If you don’t mind a series that ends by simply ceasing to continue, give Everworld by K.A. Applegate a try. (You know, the lady who did Animorphs? Yeah, her.)
Welp, back to my regular reading list. On Deck:
Stranger in a Strange Land
S, this new book by Dough Dorst and produced by J.J. Abrams (I look forward to lens flare)
The Lord of the Rings (yeah, I know)
The Martian Chronicles
Awoken
regarding the books: Stranger in a Strange Land is . . . strange.
I……UH…….DON’T HAVE A EXPLOSION-BASED PUN FOR THIS ONE!! Ò‰ Ò‰

Strange in a Strange Land as been known to cause head ‘splodeys.
Enjuhneer needs more enjuhneers?
I’m not sure which of those two series’ endings upset me more…
Mr. Torgue: That must have blown your mind.
K.A. Applegate can’t write worth a damn – both of her major series’ endings sucked ass. (Which is why she didn’t even write 95% of Animorphs, I guess?! HEY-O!)

YOU’RE RIGHT!! Ò‰ Ò‰
THIS EXPLODED MY MIND!! Ò‰ Ò‰

I remember Everworld. I loved it right up until the end. Unfortunately, due to low sales, she was forced to end it rather quickly. To quote her exact words “It died a painful and not-quite-slow death.” I would have loved to see where she planned on going with this whole thing, and I wish she’d write more of her fantastic stuff. Even if it’s YA, she writes entertaining stories, and vibrant worlds. She’s a very imaginative woman.
